CCM and Reebok’s Strategy

CCM Hockey
In today’s world, when most people think about hockey equipment, they think Reebok. I think I started playing hockey in 1995 or 1994. Even though us roller hockey players saw Reebok skates and started to see other Reebok gear, like sticks and gloves show up, nobody really purchased it. I had stopped playing inline hockey a few years later. Reebok hockey equipment was everywhere. Reebok was also the official equipment provider to the National Hockey League.
There were a few big brands that I knew about and so did every other inline hockey player. These brands were CCM, Jofa, and Bauer. CCM was founded in 1899 after the collapse of the bicycle market. It stands for Canada Cycle & Motor Co. Ltd. By 1905, with saturation in the bicycle market, CCM also began producing hockey skates and subsequently began manufacturing other hockey gear. It manufactures a wide range of ice hockey equipment and its major rival is Bauer Hockey. CCM acquired other hockey equipment makers (such as Koho and Jofa) and became known as The Hockey Company. CCM is one of the official licensees, sponsors, and on-ice suppliers of ice hockey equipment for the National Hockey League until 2014. In 2004, Reebok purchased CCM, Koho and Jofa. After awhile, they phased out Jofa and kept the CCM and Reebok
