The Importance of Ice Skating in Hockey Ice

ice skate
Ice skating has a long history. In fact the origins of ice skating date back to the early ninth century. Ice skating is a sport that is both loved and hated by its practitioners. For some the entire sport is ice skating, for others the actual act of skating on ice is simply one aspect of a very complex and multifaceted activity. And others are simply content to skate. The difficulty of ice skating is much like that of roller skating. Ice Skating. Why do we want to teach our children to ice skate?
When your child decides to play hockey ice, the one most important thing about playing is skating. The fit of a skate is crucial to your child’s performance. COMFORT, COMFORT, COMFORT!!! The last fellow who sharpened his skates cut the blade diagonally so he was uneven when skating. We later found a person at a local skate shop that fixed the blades and now we take the hockey skates to him after every 6-7 hours of skating. The difference between children’s levels of skating in the beginning is primarily ice time. The longer your child spends on the ice and watches others people ice skate, the better they become. The faster they skate, the more confident they become.
