Tai Chi Chuan is the art that preaches emptiness. One must move without force to realize the true depth of Tai Chi. And, in Tai Chi, you never run out of nothing.
One must understand, of course, that there are stages of emptiness. The beginning student will have one viewpoint concerning this notion, and the advanced master will have another, and there is plenty of room in between. Indeed, one could almost say there are as many viewpoints of this great nothingness as there are students to perceive them.
In the beginning there is much confusion. The beginning student tries to get in the way, has realizations of the mechanistic nature of the universe, and works his way through confusion. Eventually, the beginner starts to realize that there is more to this idea of space than he at first thought.
One can perceive a great nothingness inside the body. The apparent concreteness of blood and brain gives way to perception. Awareness seeps unhindered through the machinations of the apparently real body.

Many people saunter to the corner mall, enter into their Korean Martial Arts dojo, and train in fresh pressed uniforms, inspecting themselves in wall sized mirrors, hit bags in between sips of their designer water, and think that they are doing iron man Tae Kwon do. These need to study a bit of the history of Tae Kwon Do. They will find that that polite double kick combo they are learning was born in hell, perfected in hades, and then things got nasty.
Just to let you know, this article is speaking of the history of the kwans from Korea of the fifties. This includes the nine major kwans, which are sung Moo Kwan, Chung Du Kwan, Moo Duk Kwan, Chang Moo Kwan, Yun Moo Kwan, Han Moo Kwan, Oh Do Kwan, Kang Duk Won, Jung Do Kwan. There are other Kwans, and schools that grew from these nine, but these nine are the main ones.
Korea is a rugged, little spit of land, about half the size of California, sticking out from the Asian continent. It is a land equal in plains and eternal mountain ranges. It experiences extremes of typhoonal rains, siberian cold, and brain broiling heat.

There is actually a good definition for Chi, one which explains away all the mysticism. The problem is that intrinsic energy has been a catch basket for anything and everything that people didn’t understand. The truth is that Chi responds very well to simple physics definitions.
When one considers the matter and principles of internal energy they must understand that there are several levels inherent within the subject. These levels actually exist in precise stages, and they follow certain rules and principles and adhere to certain methodology. To understand the possibilities contained in this matter one must consider that water takes shape first as ice, then it exists as water, then it finally rarifies into steam.
On the first level Chi is solid, it is the material which makes up bodies. That chair you are sitting in, it is made of frozen chi. So is the refrigerator and the TV.
On the second level, the one that most people deal with, internal energy is a liquid like, plasma sort of energy. Sink your posture, move your body in a way that promotes generation and circulation, and you can feel the chi moving around inside your body. Interestingly, this plasma type of energy actually moves through the solidity of your body.

When most people hear the word yoga, an image of a girl sitting with her feet on her things and hands resting on her knees often forms in their minds. They may also imagine that she is meditating. But this ancient discipline is more than just sitting in this lotus position. It is an approach to life that combines the value of both physical and philosophical well being. The word itself comes from ancient Sanskrit writings and in English translates to “royal union.” This royal union is that of the mind and body.
The Sanskrit text that offers the foundation is the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. There are four books to this text that were written over 2000 years ago. The four books are the Kaivalya Pada, Vibhuti Pada, Samadhi Pada, and the Sadhana Pada. The Sadhana Pada is where the physical aspects of yoga are found.
Within this book you will discover the “eight limbs” which are steps called the Ashtanga Yoga. The first five of these limbs concern aids from the external while the final three limbs deal with issues of the internal. The third of these limbs is all about discipline of the body. It preaches that the human body should be free of disease and that vital energy must be preserved. Western versions of this ancient discipline have derived from the teachings in this book of the Sutras.

The Razor A scooter … What does that phrase conjure up in your mind? If you have kids, I’m sure that you’ve heard of the Razor A scooter series, but they weren’t about when we were children. However, the idea was, even though I forget the marques from my youth.
I adored my two-wheeled, kick-powered scooter when I was young. Mum and Dad had their car, my older brothers had their bikes and I had my scooter. It didn’t go fast, but then, I didn’t go far either, but it was a vehicle, of sorts and it gave a feeling of freedom. I had my wheels and I was on the move!
Well, the modern equivalent of that scooter is the Razor A scooter series. And they really are modern too! They are a far cry from the plain scooters of yesteryear. The Razor A scooter series was brought out in the year 2000 and is tough, log-lasting, collapsible and as safe as you can get.

Drinking more water can help you lose weight. Our bodies need to be hydrated to do important things like carry nutrients to the cells. Water also helps transport vitamins and minerals. Extra water will break down fat cells. When you exercise, you sweat and lose water, so it’s important to stay hydrated.
Skipping breakfast to lose weight is counterproductive; you’ll feel much hungrier and snack more later in the day. If you eat a reasonable amount for breakfast, you won’t have this problem. In addition, don’t make extreme changes to your diet, or change your diet within a day. Your body will start preserving food as fat if you’re not giving it enough nutrition, and you’ll lose muscle mass instead of fat. To get rid of fat, be more active and eat a bit less.
Which diet is right for you? Many diets claim to be “the one”, but it’s hard for consumers to pick the right one. Choose a diet with realistic promises; losing lots of weight very quickly is bad for your health. You want to lose weight consistently, although it will slow down at some point. Keep yourself motivated and don’t quit!
