I am not totally sure whether I am watching a hockey video game, or an actual televised hockey game, every time I catch a glimpse of footage from PS3 and Xbox NHL 10. Just how great PS3 and Xbox NHL 10 looks, sounds and feels, it is frightening, really. PS3 and Xbox NHL 10 is in an entirely different league, even though we have seen some decent hockey video games throughout the years. PS3 and Xbox NHL 10 is just a superior gaming experience, even when compared to its excellent predecessor.

Maybe it’s because PS3 and Xbox NHL 10 has introduced, among other things, new ways to score. With players able to shoot from their knees and bat pucks out of the air, just for starters, the folks at EA Sports like to boast that these new ways are “spectacular.’ Clearly, PS3 and Xbox NHL 10 is making sure that getting the most for his video game dollar is you, the hardcore gamer. And you will see that you have not been shortchanged in the least, once you sit down and start taking part in PS3 and Xbox NHL 10 tournaments.

Thankfully, this not the case with PS3 and Xbox NHL 10, though hockey video games come and go. Of the video game world, a hockey video game has never so successfully captured the imagination. So once again, just like they did for NHL 09, returning are Gary Thorne and Bill Clement to provide commentary for PS3 and Xbox NHL 10. It is no wonder that PS3 and Xbox NHL 10 is taking the video game world by storm, with all of this working for them.

“Good Old Hockey” is the tagline for EA Sports’ NHL 10. And there is no argument with that one. PS3 and Xbox NHL 10 delivers exactly what it promises here, and then some. What really makes PS3 and Xbox NHL 10 such an amazing game is that EA Sports was not content to merely coast on their reputation. Just name the player and his image will come to mind in their team uniform. This was the old six team NHL. The Chicago Black Hawks, New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Montreal Canadiens. I became a Toronto fan. All the teams had proud and long traditions.

My favorite player was Frank Mahovlich. Mahovlich won six Stanley Cups. In 1974 the Philadelphia Flyers became the first expansion team to win the Stanley Cup. Today hockey has 30 teams. I swear the NHL leadership is listening to soccer moms instead of hockey moms. Let the Fans begin the cheers. If your fans can’t generate their own team cheers, then send them to a soccer game. The history of the NHL jersey dates back almost 100 years. NHL fans buy NHL gear including hockey jerseys and wear them to games and at home to show their support for their local team. The NHL started in 1917 with five teams. The main characteristics of their NHL jerseys were long sleeves and stripes. The Toronto Arenas were the only team to sport a solid blue jersey with white trim.
